Story of my life right there in the title. That lovely landscape in the title picture is where I will be spending 10 of the next 15 days. Haines, Alaska (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haines,_Alaska), the destination of my birthday vacation and some much needed R&R.
I have a friend there who is going to teach me why Alaska is better than Alabama; for she is a Birmingham native that relocated there after working there for a few tourist seasons.
Aurora Borealis, I am coming for you. Snow. Winter. Moose and bear, your newest friend, me, is on his way this Saturday. I am going to see if I can get Marsha or Tini to write you guys up a blog for next week. No offense, but I will not have my face in a screen when there will be so much nature for me to enjoy!
Yes, of course I will be snapping and gramming while I’m there but I will save all the really good stuff for you when I write this blog and I am home (if I come home. No promises on that one).
So sorry about the gas problems we had this past week. Believe me when I tell you it made us very unhappy as well. We sprung a leak out back due to some road maintenance that was beyond our control.
Everything is filled in now and working superbly. Thank you all so much for your patience with us this past week. Believe me when I tell you it was the most stressful week for me since we opened GM. Thankfully you are always so understanding and the staff here hasn’t shot me yet, though I am sure that my demise is on a couple of their Christmas lists.
But who could hate a face like this?
Obviously I am kidding. But the party was fun and I got to be really goofy, which is something I am very passionate about.
Sorry to be so brief this week, but I have to do laundry and start packing!
Special for dinner this week is the nacho burger (check instagram for pictures) and chicken tamales with house made red sauce. Also it being Halloween, we have some give-aways for y’all.

Brunch this weekend will be M&M pancakes as a meal with eggs and bacon or by themselves as a short stack.
Next week we will be bringing back the California turkey burger.
